With the Rangers’ first pick in the draft (2nd round, 59th overall) they drafted Brandon Halverson, an American goalie who played with the Soo Greyhounds of the OHL last season.
Halverson is 6’4″ and 179 lbs. He was the back-up to Matt Murray last season, but should be given a starter’s workload next season in Murray’s absence.
Halverson played 19 games with Soo, going 12-6-1 with a 0.904 SV% and a 2.96 GAA.
